Meet ActiJoint’s Expert Providers

Ryan Riggs, Medical Director of ActiJoint

Ryan Riggs, M.D.

  • Founder and Medical Director of ActiJoint
  • Over 20 years of medical experience as a physician
  • 13 years of non-surgical orthopedic treatment experience
  • Advanced Ultrasound Diagnostic Training
  • Over 4,000 annual injections performed
After graduating from Brigham Young University, Dr. Ryan Riggs received his medical degree from the University of Utah. He completed his internship and residency at the University of Arkansas and became board-certified in Emergency Medicine. After working 10 years in the emergency room, Dr. Riggs noticed that often patients with joint pain were being dismissed with limited treatment options. Many were being told that there weren't many options outside of medication and invasive surgery. Because of this, he decided to open Actijoint in 2012, a non-surgical orthopedic practice.

Dr. Riggs loves connecting with patients, understanding their difficulties, treating their pain, and restoring their active lifestyles. He is constantly searching for ways to improve patient care and patient outcomes
Devon Duplain, Certified Physician Assistant

Devon Duplain, PA-C

  • Advanced Ultrasound Diagnostic Training
  • 7 years of non-surgical orthopedic treatment experience
  • Over 4,000 annual injections performed
Devon is a nationally certified physician assistant who has been working alongside Dr. Ryan Riggs for several years. He is an Ohio native and attended The Ohio State University before transferring and completing his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Brigham Young University. He later completed his Master of Clinical Medical Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies at Barry University in Miami, Florida. During his training, he was awarded the Carolyn Parkhurst Rosser Award which is given to the student who most exemplifies the qualities of strong moral and ethical character.

Devon decided on a career in medicine because he loves to serve and connect with people on an individual basis. He saw from an early age the impact that compassionate providers can have on patients and their families and aspired to become one, himself. He loves getting to know our patients at ActiJoint and treats each one as family.

In his spare time, Devon enjoys spending time with his wife and son, reading, watching movies, and sports such as golf, basketball, and snowboarding.
